Popular Trump protégé is on fire

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS JUNE 9, 2004

To the right you'll find gd.com guest columnist Kathryn Popoff with none other than Bill the Apprentice, the cigar-hawking entrepreneur from Chicago that earned his place at the right hand of real estate kingpin Donald Trump.  Although many believe his last name was changed to "Theapprentice", Bill Rancic (official site) is just a regular guy who worked hard and got a good break.   

A few points of gossip gathered during this encounter:

- Yes, Omarosa is really that bad - her infinite brutalness was not a result of clever editing by show producers.

- Bill didn't get a along with fellow candidate "Troy" when the show began, but now they are friends.

- Mr. Rancic has a book coming out later this year called "You're Hired".

- Bill talks to "Mr. Trump" everyday and says he's a great guy.

- He and Kwame weren't very tight.  Bill noted that Kwame was a Harvard man, while Bill was just the son of school teachers.

- Is he dating that chick from the Bachelor?  He wouldn't say.
