The story of the 1980 U.S.
hockey team. In February of 1980, amidst growing Cold War fears, the U.S.A.
Olympic hockey
team created an unforgettable moment of national pride when they miraculously
beat the Soviets on the ice-a win selected by Sports Illustrated as the #1
sports moment of the century.
Revisiting Lake Placid twenty-one years later,
Do You Believe in Miracles? takes a look at the team's emotional climb to
gold while exploring the tumultuous political and social landscape of the time.
Interviews include U.S. players Jim Craig and Mike Eruzione, coach Herb Brooks,
and Russian and Soviet Players Vladislav Tretiak and Boris Mihailov, American hostage Barry
Rosen, and Broadcaster Al Michaels.
The
1980 US Olympic hockey team will be immortalized in the
upcoming movie "Miracle", where recently departed coach
Herb Brooks will be played by Kurt Russell. It
looks like a great film for those who want a look inside
the team. Reviews to come.
To the
right, and pic and photo of the famous celebration as they
celebrated their victory over the highly favored
Russians. The photo is a legendary
piece of Americana.
